States Will Face $150 Million Tab To Use TANF Child Care Funds

States will need to spend about $150 million of their own money to draw down new child care funds available under the welfare reform legislation enacted earlier this year, program advocates say.

The new law included $200 million in additional child care spending for the next year, an amount child care experts consider woefully inadequate.
